    "A short stretch of the Thames. On the left as we go downstream is Wapping and Limehouse, with Rotherhithe on the right,  and straight ahead is Canary Wharf on the Isle of Dogs...which isn't actually an island.  The name Limehouse comes from lime kilns that used be situated on the shore here. Or possibly from the name 'Limeys' given to Royal Navy sailors because they used to get a ration of lime juice to ward off scurvy.” CR
