PIER

" Looking East towards Brighton's Palace Pier on a hot Summer day. There used to be two active piers when we first moved to Brighton. The Palace Pier shown here was the furthest east. It was renamed Brighton Pier for a while by new owners, but locals always knew it as Palace Pier. The other one was along the beach westwards, just before the border between Brighton and Hove, and it was called The West Pier. Hmm! That one has fallen into a sad state of disrepair and is now little more than an arrangement of rusty girders in the sea." CR
